Here is the huge project that I have been working on for weeks! This table is estimated to be from the 1940's, and we believe it was handmade. It was a bit rough, but such a beauty. I love everything about this table, but my FAVORITE part? It was FREE! My grandfather found it in a house he was helping clean out (the renters had moved out and left it behind!). He told my Grandma about it, she called me and asked if I wanted it, I said, "OF COURSE I WANT IT," and the rest is history...
*This is a picture heavy post, don't say I didn't warn you! :)
Here she is after many coats of paint, tons of sanding, and a little wood filler (then repeat, repeat, repeat).
The legs are absolutely gorgeous.
Here's what the table looked like when I first got it...
It was rough, but those legs and the curved corners are what sold me.
There was a large chunk missing from the middle that ran the width of the table.
Filling with wood putty, then sanding it down...
Priming it...
Originally I was just going to paint the top, then stain the legs, but I decided to paint the whole thing.
I think painting it made the legs pop even more.
Love those corners...
This piece has such great character.
I did sand a few spots on the top to bring out the detail.
(I love you)
I can't wait to get this table into our dining room and decorate. I'll post more pictures once I finish all the chairs and get it all set up in the apartment.
Thanks for reading,

***UPDATE here is the table in it's new home (and a sneak peek of our new apartment)! Those are not the chairs that go with it, they are from Matt's previous dining set.
